Going through some revamping

Hi all,

I have started my new job at The Augusta Chronicle in Georgia as a general assignment reporter. So far, so good.

I plan to revamp this blog in the next month or so with a slightly different focus (more on me, journalism and my work).

If you want to reach me, leave a comment or e-mail me at ezureick@gmail.com.

Thanks!

Song of the week

This week I am going with the sentimental yet witty song by country artist Brad Paisley. It’s called, “Welcome to the Future.” Enjoy!

Song of the Week

With the summer season winding down, here is a good beach song to put you in the mood for Labor Day: The Zac Brown Band’s newest song, “Toes.”

Song of the week

We’ll take a different pace for the song of the week from the last edition. This is an upbeat number called “Down”  from Jay Sean, featuring Lil Wayne. Definitely a dance number.

Song of the week

The latest song, “Hurry Home,” from N.C. native Jason Michael Carroll makes our song of the week. It fits perfectly into his sappy, story-telling songs that I love, focusing on a father/daughter relationship. Enjoy!

Song of the week

To get you off into the weekend right, here is the song of the week: Theory of a Deadman’s “Not Meant to be.” The group, mentored by Nickelback, gives a heartful rendition of a love gone wrong that is slowly climbing the charts.

Song of the week

For all the Gossip Girl fans out there, this week’s edition of song of the week features Cobra Starship’s new single, “Good Girls Go Bad,” which spotlights Leighton Meester (GG fans will know her better as the Park Avenue princess Blair Waldorf).

Note: The selection of this song does not mean I am advocating good girls going bad. It’s just a fun pop-dance tune!

Song of the week

My favorite song of the week is Eric Church’s country ballad “I Love Your Love the Most” from his CD “Carolina.” He is a native of Granite Falls, N.C. I like the song because he lists a lot of things he loves (cold beer, George Strait songs, Saturday football) that I also love. It’s a good All-American country tune. Enjoy!

Song of the week

If you listen to country radio, you have probably heard this one since it just became trio Lady Antebellum’s first No. 1 hit. I give you, “I run to you.”

Song of the week

This week let me introduce you to the sounds of country band Gloriana. They’re a four-member group featuring two female and male vocalists who are also talented musicians. They’ve been opening up for Kellie Pickler and Taylor Swift on some of their tour dates this year.

Some of you might recognize the blonde mandolin player, Cheyenne Kimball, who briefly had an MTV reality show about her burgeoning music career.

This is their first single, “Wild at Heart”:
